To find out more about Doc’s teaching style, go to bestgolfdrills.com and click blog on the menu.  This will take you to several recent videos

Richard “Doc" Olshock was born in 1951 in Washington Pennsylvania. He started to develop an interest in golf at the age of 5, as every year his entire family would gather together to watch the Masters golf tournament. Arnold Palmer was a hero in Western Pennsylvania and nearly everyone became interested in golf. Doc found some hickory shafted clubs in his grandfather’s  basement. Grandpa gave the clubs to Doc, as he was no longer able to play due to a stroke. From age 10 until the present, Doc has read nearly every instruction book written, as he was extremely interested in the theory of the golf swing. He is a practicing physician, obtaining his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1977 and is still practicing as of May 2017. In 2009, he decided to do research and wrote a book called muscle golf, which was a treatise on the biomechanics of the golf swing. Because the demand for such a technical book was low, he made a two-hour DVD called  “Biomechanics of a Simple Swing", available on Amazon. Next was an e-book titled “How To Use Biomechanics To Save Your Back And Your Golf Swing", also available through Amazon. Doc has recently developed a swing aid, the Pro Swingband, which is based on biomechanics and helps both beginners and accomplished golfers to improve their swings. Doc received confirmation on the validity of his biomechanical theories from Jim Flick, one of the greatest golf instructors of all time.  Doc then began  teaching biomechanical principles in order to make the golf swing easier to learn and more repeatable. He loves teaching golf, particularly with students who are willing to work hard. Doc’s favorite quote comes from Harvey Penick - “If you are golfer, then you are my friend."

  • Has taught multiple high school champions.

  • Teaches golf to students at the highest professional levels.

  • One of the world's experts in back injuries related to golf.

  • One of the world's experts on the biomechanics of golf.

  • Teaches you how to simply move the golf club to hit the ball rather than trying to hit the ball.

  • Received M.D. degree from University of Michigan Medical School.

Nicholas graduated from Duke University with a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering and Colorado School of Healing Arts’ 720 Hour LMT Certification Program.

He began golfing in 2020 after growing up with baseball as his dominant sport. He has seen his handicap drop by over 30 strokes in the past 3 years. Intent on reaching his own golf potential, he offers everything he has already learned and is continuing to discover.

Nicholas’ vision includes playing and teaching a brand of golf that is enjoyable to watch and feels good in one’s body.

A session with him will begin to rewire your body’s pain pathways, unlock new ranges of motion, and actualize more of your golf potential as a result.

His goals on your behalf:

  • Let golf be something that not only feeds your competitive drive but nourishes your actual and perceived physical and spiritual wellbeing.

  • Expand your horizons of what you thought was possible with the game - the art - of golf.

  • Get you to truly and deeply love this game even more.

  • Enable you to play (at a high level) forever
